Emergency Services Respond to Multiple Incidents in Doncaster Overnight
Doncaster, August 7, 2024 — Emergency services were kept busy overnight as they responded to a series of incidents across Doncaster on Tuesday, August 6.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., firefighters from the Askern station were dispatched to a deliberate fire involving tree cuttings on Selby Road, Askern. The blaze was controlled by 8:35 p.m., and the team cleared the scene shortly after.
Later in the evening, at 9:25 p.m., three fire crews from Doncaster and Adwick stations were called to a dramatic scene on Ogden Way, Wheatley Hills. A vehicle had collided with a building and ended up partially inside. Fortunately, no individuals were trapped in the incident, and crews were able to depart by 10:00 p.m.
At 9:30 p.m., firefighters from Thorne responded to a deliberate rubbish fire on Waggons Way, Stainforth. The situation was managed, and the team left the site at 10:15 p.m.
The night concluded with a significant response from three fire crews from Doncaster and Thorne stations to an accidental garage fire on Heathfield Close, Barnby Dun, which was reported at 11:15 p.m. The fire was extinguished, and the area was cleared by 12:25 a.m.
