Taylor Swift seems to have subtly revealed her support for a US presidential candidate, potentially backing Kamala Harris.
The speculation arose after the popular singer posted a series of images on her Instagram page showcasing her performances during the Eras tour in Warsaw.
On the seventh slide, amidst a picture of Swift playing guitar onstage, there appeared a silhouette resembling Harris, the nominee of the Democratic Party, also on stage and waving behind Swift.
This image sparked discussions that Swift might be signaling her choice for the upcoming election in November.
One X user commented: “It feels significant that Taylor Swift included a shadow of Kamala in her Instagram post, yet not many are discussing it.”
Another user noted: “[Swift] subtly endorsing @KamalaHarris on @instagram. No official statement aside from this picture.”
However, The Hollywood Reporter cited a source close to Swift, stating that the silhouette is actually one of Swift’s background singers on stage, with such shadows being a regular occurrence during performances.
Another post depicting Swift in a flowing yellow gown also had a silhouette present, though the figure did not wave and appeared more natural.
In the caption of that post, Swift made no indication of an imminent endorsement but expressed her immense enjoyment of the Warsaw shows and enthusiasm for returning to Poland, signing off with “see you soon Vienna!”
It would come as a surprise if Swift did not lean towards Harris, given her known stance on pro-choice, gender equality, LGBT rights, and gun control.
