Sheffield, August 7, 2024—Authorities have arrested three individuals following a weekend of disturbances in Sheffield. The arrests are part of a broader crackdown on public disorder across South Yorkshire.
A 41-year-old man has been taken into custody on charges related to public order offences. Additionally, a 60-year-old man has been detained for being drunk and disorderly. In a separate incident, a 20-year-old man has been arrested on charges of violent disorder connected to the mass unrest that erupted on Sunday. All three individuals remain in police custody.
These latest arrests bring the total number of individuals apprehended in connection with the violent disruptions across South Yorkshire to 18. Seven have been formally charged and are currently proceeding through the judicial system.
