Yorkshire Dales, August 9, 2024 — Clive Owen, former star of the Channel 5 reality series *Our Yorkshire Farm*, has announced his departure from the spinoff show featuring him and his eldest son, Reuben Owen. The decision comes as Owen opts to step back and allow Reuben to lead the show independently.
Clive Owen, known for his role alongside ex-wife Amanda Owen on the popular series *Our Yorkshire Farm*, gained widespread recognition for showcasing their life on a remote Yorkshire farm. However, the original show was cancelled after five successful seasons following the couple’s divorce. Channel 5 subsequently launched a spinoff, *Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive*, which debuted in December 2022.
Despite the spinoff’s strong performance, attracting 1.8 million viewers and outperforming Amanda Owen’s recent venture *Real Farming Lives*, Clive Owen has decided to stop the series. In a recent interview on ITV1’s *Lorraine*, Owen explained that his decision stems from Reuben’s desire to move forward independently.
“We’ve done this thing with Reuben; it’s been great fun working with him. He’s crazy, too, so we’ve had a grand time doing it,” Clive Owen said. “But now I think it’s time for him to go alone. He doesn’t want me on his hands.”
Clive Owen’s departure marks a new chapter for Reuben, who has successfully launched two seasons of *Reuben Owen: Life In The Dales*. The series, which chronicles Reuben’s journey and his former partner Sarah Dow, has been well-received, expanding to include trips abroad and appearances from other familiar faces from the *Our Yorkshire Farm* cast.
Reflecting on his past, Clive Owen admitted to making mistakes in his personal life, particularly regarding his relationship with Amanda. “All I am hearing is poor Clive, which is wrong. I mishandled it; the show was such a change in our life, and I sadly made a mess of things and had a massive part to play in our relationship ending,” he shared.
As Clive Owen steps away from the limelight, he has not entirely ruled out future television work. “I have no plans to do anything in particular, but you never know; someone might be daft enough to ask me,” he quipped.
With Reuben Owen now in the spotlight, viewers can look forward to new adventures and insights from the Yorkshire Dales.
