A 14-year-old boy, along with ten men, are set to appear in court following right-wing riots last week across Merseyside.
Tensions in the region are just one of many that have occurred in major urban areas across the UK over the past week.
During an altercation on St Luke’s Road, Southport, rioters set vehicles on fire and aimed projectiles at officers.
The group, reportedly affiliated with the English Defence League (EDL), also hurled objects at a nearby mosque.
Another demonstration held on Saturday at Pier Head in Liverpool also escalated into violence.
Authorities were clad in riot gear as a large crowd attacked them with projectiles and other debris.
