Sheffield, South Yorkshire—Wendy’s, the iconic American fast-food chain, has set the launch date for its second Sheffield restaurant. The new location, situated at the former Papa’s Fish and Chips site in Arena Square, 3 Arena Court, is slated to open on August 8.
The announcement via the social media platform X has generated considerable excitement among fans. Wendy’s encouraged followers to “mark yer calendars for August 8!” as it gears up to expand its presence in Sheffield, also known as the Steel City.
This new branch came just after the recent opening of Wendy’s locations in Whitby and Kirkby. Wendy’s first Sheffield restaurant debuted on December 8, 2022, at 25 High Street in the city centre. After a two-decade absence, the fast-food giant notably returned to the UK market in 2021. Since then, Wendy’s has launched over 30 locations nationwide, encompassing company-operated and franchised restaurants and delivery kitchens. The expansion includes four new drive-through sites in Colchester, Peterborough, Derby, and Brampton Hut.
