Paul Mullin, the 29-year-old striker for Wrexham, has been featured in Ryan Reynolds’ latest cinematic piece.
Having joined Wrexham in 2021, Mullin portrayed a character named Welshpool, a Welsh version of Deadpool, in the recent Marvel blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine.
With 122 appearances and 88 goals in the past three years, Mullin has been a valuable player for the Red Dragons.
In a social media post, Reynolds mentioned, “You may have noticed one member of the Deadpool Corps was far deadlier than the rest. WELSHPOOL.”
Aside from Mullin, another Wrexham AFC player, Ollie Palmer, also had a brief appearance as a bar patron in the movie.
The most recent Marvel film grossed $205m (£159.5m) during its opening weekend in North America, securing a place in the top 10 highest openings of all time.
Wrexham-based club Wrexham, purchased by Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, achieved promotion for the second consecutive season earlier this year.
Wrexham is set to play their inaugural League One match on 10 August post their promotion.
