An individual was found deceased near Calais after a small boat endeavored to traverse the Channel from France to the UK during the night, as per the French authorities.
Following an incident where a vessel encountered difficulties, another 34 individuals were rescued and transported to emergency services.
Reports from the French coastguard suggest that multiple boats are still currently at sea.
Small boat crossings have reached a peak for this season, with a series of fatalities being recorded in recent weeks.
UK statistics indicate that 1,500 individuals made the voyage across the world’s most active shipping lane in the week concluding on 21 July, utilizing 27 boats, which corresponds to an average of around 55 to 56 passengers per craft.
Furthermore, 1,007 individuals aboard 33 boats were impeded from making the crossing during the same timeframe.
