Boost in Donations
Following Jay Slater’s disappearance, a fundraising initiative has seen a significant increase in funds, with donations exceeding £10,000. The teenager’s mother, Debbie Duncan, made a heartfelt plea urging continued support to cover the expenses of his funeral.
“We are determined to provide our son with a fitting send-off,” expressed Duncan in a statement on the GoFundMe page, which has now amassed over £70,000.
The initial purpose of the “Get Jay Slater Home” fundraiser was to assist with the family’s financial needs during the search for Jay after he went missing.
Future Plans
Debbie Duncan specified that the excess funds and any forthcoming contributions will be allocated towards repatriating her son’s body and covering the funeral costs.
Recently, authorities in Tenerife confirmed that the body discovered by rescue teams near Masca belonged to the 19-year-old Jay Slater. The tragic incident appeared to be the result of a fall from a rocky cliff.

His intent was to embark on an 11-hour trek back to his holiday residence in Los Cristianos.
Following the identification of Jay Slater’s remains, Debbie Duncan expressed profound sorrow, stating that their family is shattered by the tragedy, unable to comprehend the loss of their beloved son.
