Renowned for his iconic track Loneliness released in 2002, Tomcraft, the celebrated German disc jockey, has sadly passed away at the age of 49.
The family of Thomas Bruckner shared the heartbreaking news on his verified social media profiles, stating: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our adored father and spouse.
“You will forever reside in our hearts, and we will cherish you until we reunite.”
No details regarding the cause of his demise have been disclosed.
The music community, particularly fellow producers and DJs, poured in with tributes.
One of them was Italian DJ Benny Benassi, expressing, “My deepest condolences. During the same era, we were both associated with Ministry of Sound. Loneliness marked my first remix venture post the release of Satisfaction.”
Over on X, Judge Jules shared a picture of the duo with the message: “A wonderful individual who crafted one of the most exceptional tracks of all time.”
German DJ Westbam, reminiscing about their recent joint performance two weeks ago, mentioned: “I sat through the entire set, which is a rare occurrence for me. His performance was exceptional, undeniably his unique style. This could have been his ultimate gig.”

Loneliness was launched in Germany in September 2002 and later in the UK in April 2003, clinching the number one position on the UK music charts.
It was featured on the soundtrack for Saltburn last year.
In addition to his chart-topper Loneliness, Tomcraft was recognized for other hit singles such as Prosac, Overdose, and The Mission.
He remained an active performer and was scheduled to participate in Berlin’s Rave The Planet Parade in the upcoming month.
