An unfortunate incident occurred in South Korea where a driver’s vehicle collided into a group of pedestrians, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least nine individuals who were waiting at a bustling intersection in the heart of Seoul. The driver is now facing accusations of accidental homicide.
Among the casualties were six people, including the driver himself, who sustained injuries during the horrifying crash that took place on Monday night in Seoul. Reports indicate that the driver was travelling in the opposite direction and crashed into two other vehicles.
Following his detention by law enforcement, the driver asserted that his vehicle had unexpectedly and unintentionally accelerated. Authorities are now planning to subject the vehicle to forensic examination, along with a thorough review of security footage captured at the scene.
Tests conducted on Tuesday confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.
