Activists have vandalized Barclays branches across the nation in a synchronized demonstration regarding the Palestine conflict.
Locations in cities such as Bristol, Manchester, and Stockport were attacked overnight and early Monday morning by Palestine Action members, who broke the glass fronts of the branches and sprayed red paint on them.
The group asserts to have closed down 20 branches in England and Scotland, although the full extent of the damage was not immediately evident.
They have accused Barclays of ‘sponsoring genocide in Palestine’ by being ‘investors in Israel’s largest weapons producer, Elbit Systems’.
While Palestine Action’s website does not specify the allegations, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign has been advocating for a boycott of Barclays over similar claims.
