An individual, aged 64, has been arrested for suspected voyeurism during one of Taylor Swift’s performances in Edinburgh.
The renowned American artist brought The Eras Tour to the United Kingdom and staged shows at Murrayfield in the Scottish capital over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Authorities from Scotland confirmed that an arrest was made at the venue throughout the trio of dates.
Superintendent David Happs stated: “Following an incident at Murrayfield on Saturday, 8 June, a 64-year-old individual was apprehended and accused of a voyeurism violation.
“He was given an undertaking to attend Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later appointed time.”
Voyeurism involves deriving sexual satisfaction from observing, capturing, or photographing individuals engaging in activities typically intended to be private. It constitutes an offense when done without consent.
Hundreds of thousands of the singer’s admirers, known as Swifties, flocked to the rugby stadium for the fully booked performances.
Devotees journeyed from various parts of the world to witness their idol, including from the United States, Canada, Iceland, and Germany.
The fans, enduring the unpredictable Scottish climate, were embraced by Edinburgh, which offered a plethora of Swift-themed amenities and activities.
In a recent Instagram update, Swift expressed: “Edinburgh! Your overwhelming support this weekend was incredible.
“Thank you for setting a new attendance record for a stadium gig in Scotland on three occasions and for making us feel so welcome.
“Appreciate all 220,000 of you!”
