Sheffield, May 25, 2024 — Sheffield was rocked by a violent street brawl on Saturday afternoon, leaving two people critically injured and raising serious concerns about public safety in the city.
Grim video footage shared widely on social media captures the chaotic scene on Woodbourn Road, where armed men were seen running through the streets. The distressing video, initially posted by the Instagram account *imjustsheff*, shows dozens of people, many wielding weapons, engaged in the altercation. Two severely injured men are visible lying on the ground as the violence unfolds around them.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as terrifying, with one passerby commenting online that he saw “about 50 men with sticks and rocks” as he drove by the area. The suggestion that machetes were among the weapons used has only heightened the alarm.
South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which they treat as a severe street disorder. According to initial reports, a large group of individuals was involved in the melee, resulting in multiple injuries. Four people were taken to hospital, with two in critical condition. Eight others sustained injuries, although these are not believed to be life-threatening and were treated at the scene.
The violent confrontation also damaged several vehicles parked in the vicinity. In response to the incident, police have made multiple arrests on suspicion of violent disorder.
